The NARDA/AHAM Refrigerant Recovery Certification Program Study Guide is available online. The US-Environmental Protection Agency approved program is a self-study course designed for technicians who recover refrigerant from appliances grouped at "Type 1" by the US EPA.
The EPA requires technicians recovering refrigerants during appliance sealed system service be certified by an EPA approved organization.
The NARDA/AHAM program costs US $60 per application, and is a self-study and self-administered exam. Candidates receive an exam, a downloadable training manual, computerized scoring of test results, plus a wallet-sized certification card and a wall certificate for those who pass.
There are seven different exam versions, each based on the EPA's official question bank. To order a certification packet, contact NARDA at www.narda.com.
