WiMax Plan Links Buyers and Suppliers Oct 12, 2006

Yesterday at the WiMAX World Conference & Exposition 2006 exposition in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S., WiMax.com Broadband Solutions launched a global collaboration within the WiMAX industry to link buyers and suppliers. The company said it gets hundreds of leads weekly from visitors in more than 180 countries requesting wireless broadband information, products, training, engineering, and business planning services.

WiMAX, (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a standards-based wireless technology to provides high-throughput broadband connections over long distances. WiMAX can be used for a applications such as "last mile" broadband connections, hotspots, cellular backhaul, and high-speed enterprise connectivity for business. The protocol is similar to Wi-Fi but is said to offers larger bandwidth, stronger encryption, and improved performance over longer distances.

"The WiMax.com Partner Program(TM) was created to help facilitate the transfer of WiMAX knowledge and promote the global build-out of WIMAX networks," says Michael Wolleben, founder and CEO of WiMax.com.
