Special to premiere on Sunday, September 24, 2006 at 9 p.m. ET/PT
Home & Garden Television (HGTV) will take viewers behind the scenes of this year’s National Hardware Show and Lawn & Garden World in a new program that will spotlight the latest tools, trends and ideas in home renovation. National Hardware Show 2006 will premiere nationally on the cable network on Sunday, September 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and will feature some of the most innovative products in the hardware industry.
The National Hardware Show will cover the latest home improvement products and trends that are driving this industry. Billed as “the home improvement event of the year,” this year’s show had 3,280 manufacturers (including international companies) showcasing their new products and solutions for the lawn and garden, hardware and tools, paint and home décor, housewares, and plumbing and electrical categories – spanning more than 767,000 square feet of exhibit space.
Hosted by Keith Neubert (Animal Planet’s Wildlife Wars) and Teresa Strasser (TLC’s While You Were Out), the special will highlight several home improvement categories, including power tools, hand tools, energy efficient products, home décor/paint, electrical fixtures, and building supplies. There will also be a special segment devoted to all the newest, niftiest gadgets that are in a class of their own.
The 2007 National Hardware Show, Lawn & Garden World and the new, co-located “Homewares Show” in Orlando, Florida will span almost 50 acres. The shows, being held at the Orange County Convention May 8-10, 2007, are said to be a microcosm of design trends and products.
HGTV.com, the network’s companion Web site, will also cover the trade show and launch its own extensive online package to coincide with the broadcast premiere. The Web site will include information on the best design trends highlighted in the television special, as well as expanded coverage of other products from the show and exclusive broadband videos.
