Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. (Tokyo) announced its plans regarding the ongoing review of its financial results from previous years. It said it is considering amending reported losses for subsidiaries and affiliates.

The company will review fiscal years 2000 (ended March 2001) through 2003 (ended March 2004), then decide which of its business units will be subject for review for impairment losses. The audit, conducted by Grant Thornton Taiyo ASG, will cover FY 2000 - 2006, and Sanyo doesn't expect it to be complete until November or December of 2007.
