Consumer electronic goods maker Videocon Industries Ltd. plans to invest 1.5 billion rupees (approx. U.S. $32.5 million) to set up a plant to make home appliances in Uttaranchal, according to Reuters.
The project would be funded from internal accruals, and the plant would manufacture a wide range of home appliances. The unit would help Videocon expand its reach in northern India.
