Sony, Sharp, Toshiba, Hitachi, and Matsushita have agreed to cooperatively set standards for internet-connected TVs and are all planning to introduce IP TVs in 2007, according to a report from Nihon Keizai. A TV can more easily view streaming video and other types of Internet graphics than can a PC. The companies hope to have the new standards ready by the second quarter of 2007, according to the report.
