Electrolux Romania reported 2006 sales of RON (Romania New Lei) 498 million (approx. U.S. $197 million), compared to 2005 sales of RON 549 million (approx. $217 million), according to Romanian business news source Ziarul Financiar.
The news outlet quoted Electrolux's Romania Marketing Manager Carmen Georgescu, who attributed decreased sales to the decline in the market itself, and said the company will turn more attention to specialized industry segments in 2007. Built-in appliances, dishwashers and dryers saw the highest increases in 2006, Georgescu told the news outlet, and Electrolux may develop products specifically for those segments.
