Lennox Industries Inc., working together with Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. to help reduce energy usage and address key opportunities in environmental sustainability, has designed a new line of high-efficiency packaged rooftop units. Wal-Mart expects to start installing the units during the third quarter of 2007.
These high performance units feature efficiencies above 12 EER, as well as advanced airflow operation. Furthermore, Lennox has specifically designed these units to achieve a high level of energy-efficiency during part load operation, which typically accounts for a majority of the operating hours of the equipment. The product line’s energy-efficiency performance not only surpasses the current U.S. and Canadian governments’ efficiency requirements for commercial HVAC equipment, but is also above the stricter energy-efficiency standards set to take effect in these countries over the next few years.
