The Canadian Press reported that appliance maker W.C. Wood Company (Guelph, Ontario, Canada) will close one of its Guelph plants and lay off 200 workers. W.C. Wood's Plant 2 makes refrigerators and freezers. The company also has a plant in Ottawa, Ohio, U.S. The OEM said it was impacted by the cost of manufacturing in Canada and low-priced products from China.
