Sony Extends Bravia Brand in the U.S. Feb 28, 2007

Extending the Bravia brand, Sony Electronics announced that its micro-display televisions, including SXRD models, home theater front projectors and new home-theater-in-a-box products will now carry the popular moniker.

Bravia, an acronym for Best Resolution Audio Visual Integrated Architecture, was first introduced in the United States with Sony's
flat-panel LCD HDTV line in late 2005. Less that one year later, Sony's LCD market share in this country went from single digits to an industry-leading 30 percent and has been one of the industry's strongest success stories.
   
In conjunction with the brand extension, Sony announced several new Bravia products, including LCD flat-panel and 3LCD micro-display HDTVs, front projectors and home theater-in-a-box products.
