Husqvarna Q4 Sales Down, Income Up Feb 26, 2007

Husqvarna Group, the Swedish-based maker of outdoor appliances, said its net sales for the full year 2006 rose to SEK 29.4 billion (approx. U.S. $4.2 billion), compared to sales of SEK 28.8 billion (approx. $4.1 billion).

Net sales in the fourth quarter were down to SEK 4.539 billion (approx. $645 million), from 5 billion (approx. $710 million) in the fourth quarter of the previous year.  However, operating income for the fourth quarter increased to SEK 346 million  (approx. $49 million), compared to SEK 327 million  (approx. $46.5 million) in the previous year. Income for the period was SEK 197 million  (approx. $28 million), compared to SEK 159 million  (approx. $22.6 million) in the previous year, for an increase of 24 percent.
