Swedish chainsaw and lawnmower maker Husqvarna said on Monday it had signed a deal to buy the assets of Dixon Industries Inc. in the U.S. for an undisclosed sum. Husqvarna, which white goods giant Electrolux spun off and listed earlier this year, said lawmower maker Dixon, a subsidiary of Blount International Inc, made an operating profit of U.S. $3.1 million last year on sales of $54.4 million.

The company said that the production of Dixon products will move to the Husqvarna plant in Nebraska. The firm said the acquisition, which was not expected to have any major impact on the group's financial position, was expected to be completed at the end of July.
