The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announced it will lead a delegation of board members, industry executives and members of the media to China to meet with top Chinese executives and attend the China International Consumer Electronics Show (SINOCES).

Sponsored by CEA, the fifth annual SINOCES is scheduled for July 7-10, 2006 in Qingdao, China, and is reportedly China's largest exhibition of consumer electronics technology.

"We bring this U.S. delegation to China to encourage business and trade opportunities between the U.S. and China," said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CEA. "We want our delegation participants to gain a greater understanding of what China and SINOCES can mean for their businesses."

In addition to Shapiro, other members of the CEA delegation traveling to SINOCES 2006 include:

  • John Shalam, chairman, Audiovox Corp.
  • Henry Chiarelli, president and general manager, Gibson Audio
  • Grant Russell, president, Green Clean USA
  • Ilana Diamond, president, Sima Products Inc.
  • Michael O'Neal, president and CEO, Team Products International
  • Paul Sabbah, vice president, business development, TechCraft Manufacturing Inc.
  • Kathy Gornik, president, THIEL Audio Products
  • Peter Lesser, president, X-10 (USA) Inc.

SINOCES 2006 is expected to be the largest show to date, drawing more than 70,000 attendees from across the globe. Covering more than 37,500-square-m of exhibit space, the show floor will feature the newest technologies from 400 exhibitors, showcasing the latest in HDTV, Bluetooth technology, digital imaging, high-end audio, home theater, and mobile electronics.
