LG.Philips LCD Will Increase 7th-Gen Capacity Feb 13, 2007

LG.Philips LCD (Seoul, South Korea) a supplier of thin-film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) technology, said it will increase the design capacity of its 7th-generation TFT-LCD plant (P7) located in Paju, Korea, from 90,000 to 110,000 input sheets of glass substrate per month by third-quarter 2007.

P7's input capacity averaged 78,000 sheets per month in the fourth quarter of 2006. P7 uses 1,950 mm by 2,250 mm glass substrate and is optimized for the production of 42-inch and 47-inch LCD TV panels. The capacity increase will help the company meet growing demand for 42-inch and 47-inch LCD TV markets.
