KitchenAid(R) Home Appliances, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and KitchenAid marketing agency Digitas were honored with a Cause Marketing Halo Award.
“Cook for the Cure(R), Presented by KitchenAid” received the Gold Cause Marketing Halo Award for Best Health Program at the fourth annual Cause Marketing Forum conference.
In its fifth year, the Cook for the Cure campaign included events, advertising, point-of-sale (POS), online, and trade efforts promoting pink countertop appliances and cooking products to generate donations to the Komen Foundation.
A major appliance donation-with-purchase program, celebrity chef auctions and a home dinner party fundraising initiative helped raise additional funds. Donations to Komen Foundation in 2005 topped U.S. $700,000, bringing total program contributions to more than $3 million to date.
"The unique Cook for the Cure program allows consumers to make a valuable contribution in the fight against breast cancer and we congratulate KitchenAid for this well-deserved honor," said Cindy Schneible, vice president of cause marketing and sponsorships for the Foundation.
