LG and Prada Launch Touch Screen Mobile Phone Jan 26, 2007

LG Electronics and luxury goods retailer Prada launched what is said to be the first completely touch screen mobile phone. The Prada Phone by LG (KE850) eliminates the conventional keypad and is said to make using the phone a highly tactile experience using a Capacitive Touch Screen. The phone is designed with a wide LCD screen, 2 megapixel camera featuring a Schneider-Kreuznach lens, video player, MP3 player, and a document viewer.  The unit is only 12 mm thick. Glowing icons on the face of the phone disappear when not in use to reveal a pure black exterior.

The phone by LG will be available in mobile dealerships and some Prada stores in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Italy as of late February 2007, followed by countries in Asia such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore in late March, 2007. A Korean version of the phone is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2007.
