New Jersey, U.S.-headquartered Conair Corporation acquired Franzus Company LLC (Connecticut, U.S.), maker of travel-related accessories under the Franzus and TravelSmart brands. Franzus is said to have been the first to introduce products such as a palm-sized hair dryer and palm-sized garment steamer. Conair will use its heritage appliance expertise to expand the Franzus product lines. It also plans to extend the market into Europe, where Conair is a market leader in hair care appliances under its BaByliss brand.
