Gateway, Inc. today announced its return to France, leveraging the success of its international retail model. The company established relationships with retailers Darty and BUT to sell Gateway and eMachines branded PCs and flat panel monitors throughout France.
In September 2005, Gateway successfully re-entered the European market with the Gateway brand in the United Kingdom. The PC maker won the "Best New Vendor" award from Comet, a United Kingdom retailer, as well as awards from United Kingdom technology publications.
Gateway and eMachines products are available in France through more than 400 Darty and BUT stores, both part of KESA Electronics, plc., which operates in seven European countries. Gateway and eMachines PCs are also sold through retailers in Canada, Japan, Mexico, and the U.S., making them available in nearly 10,000 stores worldwide.
