China Has 400 Personal Grooming Appliance OEMs Apr 26, 2006

There are approximately 400 personal grooming appliance producers in China, and nearly all of them have export capability. A new Global Sources report, China Sourcing Report: Personal Grooming Appliances, described this industry segment as made up of largely small and midsize companies, most of them based in the provinces of Guangdong and Zhejiang.

Suppliers in Guangdong generally have stronger product development capability, according to the report. It said these companies are able to innovate more in design and function and are usually the first to incorporate new features in appliances, while those in Zhejiang focus mainly on the production of low-end models.

Global Sources, a Hong Kong-based B2B facilitator and trade publisher, reported that at least 51 of the companies are RoHS-compliant.
