Sears Canada Names Acting President as Hollister Resigns

Sears Canada President and CEO Brent Hollister will leave the retail company May 9, 2006. Following the announcement, the board of directors named Dene Rogers acting president, effective on the day of Hollister leaves the company.

On April 6, 2006, Sears Holdings Corporation announced that it had secured the minority shareholder support necessary to take Sears Canada from a publicly traded company to a private company.

About Brent Hollister
Hollister served in virtually all sales, merchandising and operating channels of Sears Canada in his 37 years with the company. He became president, Sales & Service in 2001, president and chief operating officer in 2002, and took his current position in August 2004.

About Dene Rogers
"Dene is familiar with Sears Canada, having been a member of the board since October 2005, and brings a broad range of business skills and industry experience during this critical period," said Alan Lacy, vice chairman of Sears Holdings Corporation and chairman of the board of directors of Sears Canada.

Rogers has been executive vice president, Restructuring and Business Improvement at Sears Holdings since October 2005. Before that he was executive vice president and general manager of Kmart Stores. He joined Kmart in October 2003.

Sears Canada is a multi-channel retailer with a network of 188 corporate stores, 181 dealer stores, 65 home improvement showrooms, and other outlets.
