As part of its effort to realign its logistic throughout North America, Whirlpool Corporation is believed to be planning a new distribution facility in Bartow County near Atlanta, Georgia, U.S. The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports sources saying Whirlpool is interested in a 117-acre site in the town of Adairsville, to erect a center to help it distribute products from its Midwestern U.S. manufacturing facilities to retail stores in the Southeastern U.S. The facility could be as big one million square feet and employ as many as 200 people. Whirlpool already has two facilities in the vicinity for distribution, which together total almost one million square feet, but it is unknown if those facilities would be closed once the new facility is operational.
