Toshiba Names Head of U.S. Information System Businesses Mar 24, 2006

Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. (TAIS) announced the appointment of Masahiko Fukakushi as president and CEO, effective April 1, 2006. Fukakushi replaces Hidejiro Shimomitsu, who will return to Japan to assume the position of EVP and chief marketing executive in Toshiba's Personal Computer & Network Company, as well as vice president of the Personal Computer Division--Americas, EMEA and Oceania Operations.

Fukakushi will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to TAIS's four main divisions: Digital Products, Imaging Systems, Telecommunication Systems, and Storage Devices. These divisions are responsible for sales and marketing in the U.S. and parts of Latin America for Toshiba's computers, projectors, imaging systems, telephone equipment, and disk drives.

Fukakushi most recently served as vice president, Personal Computer Division--America, EMEA and Oceania Operations. He has held senior management positions in Europe and in the storage device business since starting with Toshiba in 1977.
