The newest-generation thermal link from Inter Control, the Minimelt II, is designed for applications where a maximum temperature must not be exceeded. Minimelt II is particularly suitable for use in irons where a high holding temperature is required and is available with different functioning temperatures up to 318°C. This high-temperature rating prevents nuisance tripping and also allows the thermal link to be mounted directly on the sole plate. Other typical applications are the protection of electric heating elements, such as in coffeemakers, dishwashers, and dryers. The Minimelt II is rated up to 15 A, with UL and VDE approvals.
The thermal link has a melt solder insert in the mounting plate, which via the base plate is also in direct thermal contact with the surface that is to be monitored. When the preset temperature is reached, the solder melts, causing a pin to move and open the electrical contacts. The design ensures an extremely fast thermal response. The closed ceramic housing is electrically isolated and eliminates the need for additional protective caps or sleeves. Various different fixing arrangements and terminals are available. Manufacturing of the product is 100% automated.
Inter Control is headquartered in Germany with production facilities and sales personnel worldwide. The company manufactures a wide range of adjustable and fixed set-point thermostats, thermal links, temperature limiters, combinations, and a range of complementary products for controlling and monitoring temperature in household appliances and industrial applications. The products are sold under the Inter Control and Thermostat- und Schaltgerätebau brands.
With more than 40 years of experience in application engineering, Inter Control works closely with customers to ensure that controls are ideally suited to the requirements of the end product, comply with the relevant regulations, and can be mounted efficiently.
