Drying Laundry More Efficiently

When it comes to drying laundry, there are two market trends: the need for customized drying programs and the need to reduce energy consumption. Sensirion recommends using its humidity and temperature sensors to meet these requirements. Drying cycles can be precisely monitored thanks to these sensors, which enable the drying process to be exactly controlled and customized for every situation. This improves the efficiency of the process and reduces energy consumption. One caveat is that the hot and humid dryer environment is a challenge for sensors. The robustness, and long-term stability of Sensirion’s combined humidity and temperature sensors, SHTxx, make them suited for this application.

Sensirion’s product portfolio also includes gas and liquid flow sensors, mass-flow controllers, and differential pressure sensors. All products are based on the patented CMOSens technology. This development features intelligent systems integration, including calibration and a digital interface. Sensirion also supports its OEM clients with custom sensor solutions for a variety of applications. An indicator of its expertise is its certification in March 2008 of compliance with the quality management system per standard ISO/TS 16949.
