A new ultrasonic sensor has been designed specifically for continuous level measurement in small tanks. With a range of 4 to 70 in. (0.1 to 1.78 m), it is suited for day tanks and drums in process lines, small tanks for industrial liquids and certain solids, and food and beverage applications. The compact Madisonic U4359 includes a simple green/red LED for operation display indication and is designed for easy installation and operation. Its polycarbonate housing is rigid and is NEMA 4X (IP65) rated. Its accuracy of ±0.25% of full span at ambient temperature and pressure ensures reliable sensing for continuous monitoring of critical liquids. The sensor incorporates a 10° beam angle, supply voltage of 12 to 28 V dc, and ¾-in. NPT mounting, allowing it to accommodate many applications without alterations. Its 4–20 mA and 0–5-V industry-standard outputs may be used individually or at the same time. Appropriate interfacing process controllers or indicators are available as well.
