PCB Snap-In Terminals
January 2008
 Printable format
 Email this Article

PCB snap-in terminals have a split-barrel design that requires low insertion force and provides spring retention to stay put during assembly and soldering operations. Featuring same-direction crimp ears for ease of use with manual or fully automated wire-processing equipment, they are suitable for attachment to 20–18 AWG wire sizes. Supplied 8000 parts per reel, the snap-in terminals are made from a high-conductivity zirconium-copper alloy that resists softening and keeps its shape during thermal cycling up to 500°C for a few seconds and 350°C for several minutes. A wide range of automated, high-speed wire attachment and terminal insertion equipment is also offered.
