Cable Strain Reliefs
November 2007
 Printable format
 Email this Article

Cable strain reliefs have historically been constructed with chambered slots to provide the necessary flexibility while still maintaining a durable connection between the cable and connector. The company has developed a strain relief made of medical-grade silicone rubber that offers customers the smooth, cleanable surface of a straight strain relief and the flexibility of chambered-style strain reliefs. The RoHS-compliant strain reliefs are applicable wherever a cable is used in a dynamic application and are easy to clean. The new configuration is not restricted to silicone-rubber construction, but may also be produced in PVC, polyurethane, and thermoplastic elastomer formulations. C&M Corp.
