Responding to continuing demand in the commercial and industrial OEM markets to meet design-to-cost goals for temperature controls, the company has established global manufacturing of its surface-mount Thermoswitch temperature controller. The Series 30000 thermoswitch is a precise, adjustable electromechanical controller with an on-off differential of ±1°F (±0.55°C). It is a viable option for engineers who need precise, responsive, and reliable temperature control to achieve their product performance goals and their projects’ design-to-cost guidelines. The electromechanical device provides accurate and reliable operation in demanding industrial and commercial applications. It does not require an external power source, responds rapidly to temperature changes, and costs less than equivalent electronic controls. All of the company’s controllers use the differential expansion of metals principle to control internal electrical contacts and regulate temperature. Typical applications include commercial cooking and food-service equipment, packaging machinery, industrial laminators, agricultural equipment, and pressure washers. The surface-mount controller is installed in direct contact with the heated surface, allowing temperature changes to be sensed quickly. The compact, long-lasting, and fully adjustable unit offers a narrow temperature differential and is UL component recognized for a minimum contact life of 100,000 cycles. It has overlapping ranges from 50° to 600°F (10º to 315°C) and has a 10-A (1200-W) resistive load rating at 120 V ac.
