Impact-Resistant Cyanoacrylates
September 2007

Two new, toughened cyanoacrylate (instant) adhesives are designed for substantial impact resistance and peel strength. Cyanoacrylate adhesives are single-component adhesives that cure by reacting to small traces of moisture on the surface of the substrates being bonded. Permabond 731 and 735 rapidly form bonds to a variety of surfaces, including aluminum, steel, plastics, and rubbers. Although designed for flexible substrates, the adhesives have added flexibility and toughness that allow even greater shear strengths to steel and other rigid materials. The 735 adhesive is opaque black while 731 is clear. Both products are ideal for bonding applications that involve impact, peel, and flexing stresses.
