Orbitform’s Model B-310 fastening station is available with real-time process monitoring and process control. It orbitally forms parts up to 0.31 in. (7.92 mm) in diameter or an equivalent area in tube, square, or other form. Typical cycle time is less than three seconds for everything from mild steel to hardened metals. Aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, lead, zinc, stainless, and other materials are suited to the process. The machine is ideal for high-volume applications and can be a cost-effective production solution. The fastening station has an adjustable tool stroke from 0.06 in. (1.52 mm) to 1.75 in. (44.45 mm). Standard throat depth is 6 in. (152.4 mm). Maximum downward force is 2120 lb at 100 psi pneumatic.

The fastening system is available with programmable cycle times, headforming pressure, a vertical head height adjustment of 6.50 in. (165 mm), a touch screen with push button on/off and emergency stop, and advance and return limit switches. Additional features include dual palm button anti-tie-down actuation (a foot switch with a safety probe is available), adjustable digital dwell timers (0 to 99 seconds), cycle counters (eight-digit with reset), pressure-differential process controls to form to a prescribed clamp load, and programmable z-axis to vary stroke. The system can be used in fully or semiautomatic modes.
