New “snap-in” mounting technology has been added to the company’s existing range of metal line switches, series MSM. The snap-in switches contain the same characteristics as their screw-mount counterparts, with the only difference being in the assembly of the switch to the equipment. The snap-in switches are force fitted into the front panel from the front side of the equipment, reportedly enabling quick and efficient assembly in buildings, controllers or equipment with limited or no access from the rear.
The new switches are said to be a cost savings alternative due to the elimination of assembly tools and other hardware needed for placement. They are available for mounting in a 22-mm diameter panel opening with panel thicknesses of 1.5 and 2.0 mm. Other mounting diameters up to 30 mm with panel thicknesses up to 3.0 mm are available on request. The complete series provides maximum switching power over a voltage range of 5 V DC to 250 V AC and a current range of 0.1 to 10 A. Snap-in metal switches are ideal for placement in narrow spaces, where maximum actuation with minimum mounting space can be achieved. Schurter Inc.
