CSA certification marks appear on many products worldwide and are widely recognized and respected in the appliance industry. The CSA marks are accepted by many major retailers, manufacturers, distributors, specifiers, and regulators throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The CSA C/U mark indicates that electrical, plumbing or other non-gas-fired appliances meet applicable standards in the U.S. and Canada. The CSA US mark signifies that products meet standards applicable in the U.S. The CSA mark indicates that products meet applicable Canadian standards.
CSA International issues the leading mark for gas-fired appliances and accessories sold in North America. The CSA Blue Star mark indicated that gas-fired products meet applicable U.S. standards. The CSA Blue Flame mark signifies that gas-fired products meet standards applicable in Canada.

Certification for the U.S. and Canada
CSA International provides “one-stop” full-service testing and certification for products sold in both the U.S. and Canada. The experienced technical staff at CSA International tests and certifies electrical, gas-fired, plumbing, and other products and components to applicable standards published by CSA, ANSI, IAPMO, UL, and other leading standards development organizations active in the U.S. and Canada.
Keeping Pace with New Products and Technology
As a worldwide leader in appliance testing and certification, CSA International stays on top of the latest product developments and industry trends to provide testing services so that new products meet standards.
CSA International recognized the new trend in North America for tankless water heaters and now offers a certification program for both the hardware and the software used in these products. Tankless water heaters—long popular in Europe and Asia—are now gaining popularity in North America and may potentially replace conventional water heaters. Their popularity stems from their ability to provide hot water on demand verses the traditional storage type water heaters in North America. The water heater and electronic controls must be evaluated for compliance with the applicable standards for gas appliances and software so that the unit will shut down safely in the event of a malfunction.

Service Across North America and Worldwide
CSA International serves appliance manufacturers from a network of offices and laboratories across North America. Offices and laboratories in Asia and Europe provide local service to manufactures that export to North America.
CSA International is a National Certification Body (NCB) in the IECEE CB Scheme and can test and certify products to IEC standards. This helps manufacturers obtain the CE mark for products to be sold in Europe. CSA International can also assist manufacturers in obtaining CCC certification for China, NOM certification for Mexico, IRAM certification for Argentina, and the marks for other countries around the world.

Fully Qualified to Test Your Appliances
CSA International is an OSHA-recognized Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) and is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the International Accreditation Service (IAS). CSA International is also accredited by the National Institute of Standards and Technology/National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NIST/NVLAP) and by states and cities having their own formal recognition programs.
