A fiberglass fabric coated with silicone rubber from the supplier is said to have resistance to temperatures up to 500°F (260°C), as well as resistance to abrasion, flexing, tear, and puncture. The rubber-coated fabric is silver in color and said to provide water, oil and chemical resistance, generate little smoke, and to be easily sewn or fabricated. The fabric can be used for removable insulation pads, protective flange shields, equipment covers, welding curtains, and expansion joints. Packings & Insulations Corporation (PIC), www.picpak.com
