The PVY117 series of microelectronic relays (MER) are designed to increase product reliability by replacing electromechanical and reed relays that have fragile moving parts and metallic contacts with more reliable, solid-state relays that have no moving parts. In addition, MERs are said to be much smaller and have lower power consumption than electromechanical relays due to lower actuation current requirements. According to the company, the MERs feature bounce-free operation, and their low on-state contact resistance and low off-state capacitance maximize performance in low voltage and high frequency semiconductor automated test equipment and other instrumentation circuits.
