Two incidental food contact lubricants have been added to the company’s line of P-80® temporary rubber lubricants. P-80® Emulsion IFC and P-80® THIX IFC meet FDA regulation 21 CFR 178.3570, which controls lubricants used in incidental food contact applications, such as appliance or pump assembly. Typical applications for the lubricants include assembly operations involving: O rings, grommets, seals, washers, hoses, stoppers, diaphragms, and plugs. Both products meet the FDA regulation for Lubricants With Incidental Food Contact, so the lubricants can be used for assembling rubber components in food processing equipment, pumps, dishwashers, washing machines, coffee makers, and other items that may come into contact with food. The lubricants have low volatile organic compounds (VOCs), are non-toxic and non-flammable, do not contain any carcinogenic or mutagenic ingredients, and have a near-neutral pH.
