According to HVAC maker Nordyne, its new line of 2006 Maytag split-system air-conditioners boast a new, robust look and a 13 SEER (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) rating.
According to the company, the units are designed to provide quiet operation and do so with features that include swept-wing fan blades and sound-absorbing, corrosion-resistant base pans.
Nordyne says the units feature a compressor equipped with a sound blanket to help reduce operating noise and feature a stainless-steel cabinet. Designed for use with R410A refrigerant, the 1-1/2 ton to 5 ton capacity units are also backed with the company’s Dependability Promise, which pledges that the unit will be replaced if the primary or secondary heat exchanger or compressor fails within the first 5 years of purchase. Also, the unit comes with a 10-year “Worry-Free” warranty on parts and labor.
