Torque Systems, a division of Cleveland Motion Controls, Inc., released its new high-energy brushless motor; the MDM 5000. The motor offers the highest available torque density available in a platform that is easily customized to fit many applications. Versatile and economical, the MDM 5000 can be used with virtually all manufacturers’ amplifiers and controllers; offers multiple voltage capabilities; includes NEMA, IEC motor mounting or custom mechanical interfaces; and is CE/UL Compliant.
“The MDM 5000 platform is a servomotor solution that can simplify and cost-reduce the design and manufacture of any servomotor driven equipment,” said Robert Stiffler, senior product manager.
The winding density is comprised of a proprietary segmented lamination technology and a neodymium magnet array for maximum power output; up to 14 Nm (124 pounds-inch) continuous stall torque in a compact 110 mm (NEMA 42) package. Three initial sizes are available: 58 mm, 85 mm and 110 mm, with additional sizes slated for release in early 2006.
