Bosch Power Tools and Accessories offers a new line of heavy duty and versatile 1800 series 7- and 9-inch large angle grinders and sanders. Using the company’s anti-vibration technology, the grinders reduce vibration by 60 percent.

As health organizations recognize the over-exposure to vibration as an occupational health issue, the company developed an anti-vibration handle system. The system incorporates vibration-absorbing rings into its three position side-assist handle and between the main trigger handle and grinder motor housing.

The model 1873-8 is the manufacturer’s first 7-inch 8,500 rpm, 3 horsepower (hp) large angle grinder offering in North America. Designed for professionals, the grinder’s speed optimizes the removal rate of any 7-inch wheel accessory. The company offers three other models to meet varying needs-1873-6, 1893-6 and 1894-6.

The 1873-6 is a 3-hp, 7-inch 6,000 rpm grinder, an industry standard. The 1893-6 and 1894-6 tools offer 9-inch wheels. The former, at 6,000 rpm and 3 hp, offers the best power-to-weight ratio available, while the latter is 4.5 hp and just over 13-pounds. The 1894-6's rotating D-handle also distinguishes the two, offering users the ability to position the handle for optimal comfort and control. The 7 and 9-inch large angle sanders, 1853-5 and 1853-6, offer 5,000 and 6,000 rpm, respectively.

Epoxy coated field windings provide protection against abrasive dust and debris while precision spiral bevel gears offer quality engineering and construction for smooth power transmission. Each unit is also AC/DC compatible for use with welders or generators. www.boschusa.com
