Petra 7010 thermoplastic polyester polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a new grade specifically developed to achieve excellent surface appearance properties in gas-assist injection mold tooling for oven handle applications. The material is said to provide excellent surface finish, especially in large parts produced using a gas-assist injection molding process. The product is said to deliver excellent strength and stiffness performance at high temperatures, and meets oven manufacturers’ requirements for resistance to food stains at high heat, solvents, and oven cleaning materials. Oven handles made from the material are available in black, white, and bisque, and are said to demonstrate good color retention properties, even at self-cleaning oven temperatures. BASF
