The LAS series of wirewound power resistors was designed for high-volume power and surge applications in appliances and white goods, including appliance controls, instrumentation, small motor controls, inrush current limiters, and general purpose power supply applications. Available in two package sizes, the LAS-3 is rated for 3 W at 25ºC, and 2 W at 125ºC, while the LAS-1 is rated for 2 W at 25ºC and 1 W at 125ºC. The resistors are constructed with a metal alloy resistance wire that is wound to semi-precision tolerances around a heat-conducting ceramic core and sealed with a silicone conformal coating. The resistors are said to be compatible with high-speed automatic insertion equipment. IRC Inc.
