According to the company, the EC-max 40-mm brushless motor offers cost savings due to an improved automated manufacturing process. The motor has a stainless-steel housing and a diameter of 40 mm (1.57 in), while the length is 88 mm (3.46 in). The company says the continuous outpower is 120 W, while maximum speed is 12,000 rpm. The motor offers maximum continuous torque up to 195 mNm (27.6 oz-in), depending on the winding.

The ambient temperature range is -40°C to 100°C (-40°F to 212°F). Using high-energy neodymium magnets allows responsive mechanical time constant of 5 ms. The company says its motors are offered with different windings to optimize desired speed with available voltage. Other features include gearheads, encoders, brakes, and control electronics. Applications are automation, bio-medical devices, pick and place machines, robotics, pumps, and semiconductor manufacturing. Maxon Precision Motors, Inc.
