The company says its 4.7-in 1/4 VGA LCD display modules are designed to be more robust and better suited to hostile operating environments. According to the company, the display modules, SP12Q01L6ALZZ and ST12Q01L6ALZZ, offer an improved operating temperature range of -20°C to +70°C, and enhanced optical performance in a compact and lightweight module. The modules are said to be ideal for several applications, from white goods appliances to industrial process control.

The modules reportedly offer design engineers an enhanced black and white Film STN display manufactured using straight tape carrier package (TCP). The company says that the introduction of white LEDs removes the need for a high-voltage CCFL backlight inverter, enabling a reduction in EMI and improved safety.
