The D4 miniature switch from the company is said to fulfill the requirements of the new household appliance standard IEC 60335-1, which will take effect by July 2008. For the new European standard, increased requirements for heat and fire resistance of materials and end products must be fulfilled. According to the standard, for carriers of live parts in unattended appliances with a nominal voltage of >0.2 A such as washing machines, dishwashers, and cooktops, glow wire test GWT 750°C is required.
