The company’s new DTI-200-12P and DTI-200-12A miniature piezoelectric pumps are said to feature cutting-edge technology that solves the problems of size, power consumption, noise, and reliability for a wide range of liquid and gas pumping applications. Utilizing piezoelectric crystals formed and bonded to a metal diaphragm, the pumps operate when the bonded crystals are stressed and distorted by an electric field, causing the diaphragm to flex. Two opposing umbrella-type check valves respond to the “flexing” of the diaphragm, creating a pumping action. The pumps are said to be well suited for both portable and fixed cooling applications such as cooling CPUs in portable and desktop computers.
