Using the talents of designer David Lewis (known for his Bang & Olufsen designs), Denmark-based Vestfrost introduced its Zhape series of refrigerators and upright freezers at HomeTech. Besides their striking curved shape—both inside and out—the appliances include a control panel that was designed to be controlled with a user's foot. The full-length refrigerator models (pictured) also include an ergonomic integrated handle that automatically opens upon touch.
Other features include safety glass shelves that are adjustable, electronic controls, and temperature display. The appliances, available in stainless steel or white, have a capacity of 392-L and are rated energy class A for the European market. They will be available in August 2004.
