The surfaces of CERAN® glass-ceramic panels for smoothtop cooking appliances are easy to clean, but they also add a modern look to a kitchen that consumers find appealing, according to the company. The high-performance touch controls are designed to work in concert with CERAN® glass-ceramic cooking surfaces. The company has developed a new modular, electronic touch control platform that is said to enable appliance OEMs to easily differentiate their glass-ceramic cooktop offerings. Using the company's patented Field-Effect touch technology, it has created a cost-effective system that combines the aesthetic quality of CERAN® with UL-recognized solid-state controls, according to the company. The control can also drive multi-color display solutions. In addition, cooking algorithms (e.g. burner element settings and pre-heat cycles), are easily customized using the company's proprietary software. The control also utilizes a high-energy-efficient, off-line switching power supply, with a 50/60 Hz auto-detect and a universal a.c. input between 90 and 264 V.
