Therm-O-Disc's 10JH/11JH Series of negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistors, designed for use in packaged terminal air-conditioning (PTAC) units, corrects airflow problems caused by earlier industry designs by eliminating the additional mounting bracket that competing PTAC probes feature. According to the company, the resulting airflow improvement allows the thermistor to take more accurate ambient air temperature measurements, increasing the probe's reliability and making the PTAC unit more efficient. This new design is said to effectively reduce the parts count, assembly cost, and overall material cost formerly associated with production of NTC thermistors. Therm-O-Disc is a part of Emerson Climate Technologies.
