KitchenAid unveiled a waffle maker, the seventh small appliance in its retro Pro Line. Excepting a toaster due in September, the portable machines will ship in early October. A food processor and a blender will be added, probably in March 2004.
The waffle maker, described as of commercial quality, makes two Belgian waffles in double-sided pans that get rotated over and back for minimal voids. The minimum advertised price is U.S. $299.
Brian Maynard, KitchenAid’s director of Integrated Marketing, also said the brand’s support for Cook for the Cure has exceeded $1 million raised for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. A pink coffee mill is being added to the pink mixer for fund-raising.
KitchenAid's Pro Line includes major and countertop appliances.
