While employers often think of a networking site such as Linkedin to post a job opening or look for a job, Linkedin is far from the only site. For companies looking for highly qualified or specialized candidates, there are job boards that offer both paid and free options and provide career networking opportunities.

A few months ago, Betterteam.com posted a list of the top sites to post engineering jobs. Some of these boards cater to a range of engineering specialties, while others specialize in one engineering discipline, such as electrical engineering.

Descriptions and job posting costs are below. While the listed information caters to potential employers, engineers take note: you too may want to bookmark these sites for your next job search.

NSPE Career Center

The NSPE Career Center is an engineering job board hosted by the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), a member organization that fosters community, and resource sharing, and provides networking opportunities. The platform attracts various engineering niches, including transportation, software, and film coating.

NPSE charges $295 per post for members and $495 per post for non-members.

EngineeringJobs.net

EngineeringJobs.net is an engineering job board that connects employers with qualified engineers from a wide range of disciplines throughout the U.S. The platform offers a user-friendly interface and a host of recruitment solutions to streamline the hiring process.

Engineeringjobs.net charges $199 per post with job posts lasting 60 days.

IEEE Job Site

IEEE Job Site is an electrical engineering job board provided by The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Employers can use the site to target a niche audience with their job postings or search the resume database to find suitable matches for their job openings.

While the platform is U.S.-based, it has an international reach, making it a good option for local employers to attract talent all over the world to their roles in the U.S. 

The IEEE Job site charges $299 for a 30-day post.

SWE (Society for Women Engineers) Career Center

SWE Career Center is an online job board dedicated to female engineers. Hosted by The Society of Women Engineers, an international nonprofit education service, the platform offers a range of career resources and allows employers to source talented engineering candidates by posting 30- or 60-day job ads.

The SWE Career Center charges $220 for a 30-day post.

ASCE Career Connections

ASCE Career Connections is the engineering job board and career center of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE); the oldest national engineering society in the U.S. comprising some 150,000 members worldwide. The platform offers employers extensive recruitment tools to connect with engineering professionals throughout the country.

ASCE offers a variety of job posting plans for 30, 60, or 90 days priced from $655. Internships can be posted free of charge.

SHPE Job Board

SHPE Job Board is the official job posting site of The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), a membership association that promotes Hispanic leadership in the STEM field. The platform hosts an engineering job board that helps companies find and hire talent from a pool of more than 21,000 professionals.

Job posts start at $99 for 30 days.

ACEC Job Board

The ACEC job board is an engineering job board hosted by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). The site offers a range of job posting plans and attractive features to speed up the hiring process, and discounted rates for ACEC members.

Job posts start $345.00 (member) and $545.00 (nonmember), with durations up to 180 days.

Energy Jobline

Energy Jobline is one of the world's leading oil and gas job boards. The platform connects employers with specialized energy professionals in the renewable, nuclear, and petrochemical industries.

Founded in 2011, the U.K.-based company now serves the international energy job market and list hundreds of thousands of local jobs in the U.S. Almost a quarter of the website's traffic comes from the U.S., making it a good choice for local employers.

Job posts are priced from 125 British pounds.

C&ENjobs

C&ENjobs is a dedicated chemical and engineering job board provided by the American Chemical Society (ACS). Employers can use the job board to advertise their job vacancies to a highly targeted audience of engineering and scientific research professionals and access a large resume database.

ASME Career Center

ASME Career Center is the official job board of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (AMSE) — a organization that supports the mechanical engineering industry through education, certification, publications, industry news, and best practices.

The platform offers free, subscription-based, and price-per-application (PPA) pricing models to suit various recruitment needs, as well as access to an extensive resume database of over 245 million professionals globally.

Google for Jobs

Google for Jobs is a feature that allows employers to have their job vacancies listed in Google search results. You can get your job post indexed by Google if you structure the underlying HTML of your job postings. Alternatively, post your jobs on a job board that Google for Jobs already indexes.
