SAE International Congress & Exposition

In today's market, automotive suppliers and OEMs face the increasing challenge of staying ahead of their competitors. To address this issue, the Society of Automotive Engineers chose "Technical Cooperation and Global Competition" as the theme for their 1996 International Congress & Exposition. More than 700 of the industry's top manufacturers and suppliers will exhibit their contributions to automotive technology at the show.

In keeping with the international theme, a European Village will feature exhibiting companies from Great Britain, Austria, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, and Sweden. The Village will be a networking event between European automotive suppliers and U.S. OEMs, and is being planned by the state of Michigan in cooperation with SAE and the European Commission.

1,000 technical papers will be presented at the 200 technical sessions covering automotive engineering. This year's Blue Ribbon Panel will feature high-level executives in an open and conversational forum discussing the global competition theme. Spotlight on India will give attendees a glimpse of how to conduct business in this emerging nation.

The Society for Automotive Engineers is a non-profit educational and scientific organization. The SAE International Congress & Exposition is the world's largest event dedicated to automotive engineering. Nearly 50,000 engineers, designers, and specifiers from more than 70 countries will be in attendance.

Fasteners

PEM(R) AUTOSPEC(TM) self-clinching fasteners are for automotive assembly requirements. Among the available AUTOSPEC fasteners are studs designed with a "dogpoint" feature to protect the first threads during assembly, providing a lead-in for ease of nut assembly and delivering installation economies along the assembly line. The complete line of self-clinching fasteners includes bumper supports, water pumps, electronic components and assemblies, safety-belt assemblies, air-bag assemblies, electrical terminal posts, and wiper blades.

Pressure transducer

8544-300M11 is a piezoresistive pressure transducer that operates up to 350F and is for pressure measurements inside automotive transmissions. This miniature pressure transducer includes an integral Teflon(R) cable that is fully compatible with automatic transmission fluid (ATF). 8544-300M11 is compensated from -40 to 335F for accuracy over a wide range of temperatures. It offers internal temperature compensation which eliminates external temperature compensation modules.
